Facebook - Don't Stick Cotton Swabs in Your Ears, Delete Facebook

Sometimes during your life, someone will give you good advice. You have choices, you can hear the advice or investigate the situation, or you can take the advice. This article is about some opinions, some facts, and some advice. You read in the title about cotton swabs but the article has not much to do with the swabs. This article is about Facebook and about the control that Facebook has over your free account.

What do cotton swabs and Facebook have in common? Control. The key is control. Facebook gives you hardly any control over your profile and the rest of your account. And when you stick cotton swabs in your ears, you lose control of your common sense. Every since the beginning of time, moms have been telling kids to keep away from the cotton swabs. Now this mom is telling you to stay away from Facebook unless you are going to alter your pages on Facebook.

Just recently I was reading about Facebook, their privacy report and how hard it is to delete your account. Being a skeptic, I tried to delete my own account also. It is harder to crochet a full size quilt. Facebook does not want yor account deleted. And one has to ask oneself why one single website needs that much control over a person's account First, a little background, you open a Facebook account and you believe that it is a social networking account, a place where you and your friends can get together, share stories, share book reviews and view each others' pictures while meeting other friends and business workers. It appears that way when you first open your account. Then, BOOM! Then you get to know what Facebook is really all about.

You receive messages from your friends that seem like friendly gestures and these messages say join or sign up with a different application. There are warnings all over the account (red flag number one) that these applications have nothing to do with facebook. Then there are warnings that you can block these applications. If you opt to join the application to your Facebook account, you are then told you need to send the same application to about twenty (Yes twenty!) of your friends or networkers). Seems that almost everyone on Facebook is sending out these applications and almost every send demands that you send that to twenty friends. Can you imagine the email list that this corporation is forming with all fo these lists of friends? You do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that Facebook and their affiliates are collecting emails for some reason or other.

Friends: This article is not about the friends. The friends that I had on Facebook are wonderful. This article is about privacy policy at Facebook, and it is about the nonsensical way that the applications insist that they obtain all of your friends email addresses to add a small application. This article is about the myths of Facebook and the truths that are really happening all over Facebook.

Tricks: Then you get the smart application that one of your friends send to you. This application boasts that you do NOT have to send this to twenty friends! Wow! You think, what a relief. So you press the button to check out this application and you ad to have it added, thinking that you do not have to send this to twenty friends. Then you hear the catch. You do not have to send this to twenty friends ONLY if you choose to participate in the endlist list of surveys that they send you. So there is the catch, participate in the surveys or send the application to twenty of your friends. (Does that sound like you are right back where you started from?).

Delete the Account: Ah, so you think that you can just delete your account when you want to? Better start now, and you will have your account deleted in a few years, maybe. Yes, I said years, and I said maybe. Under the pretext of making things easier for you in case you want to join Facebook again, Facebook insists that you delete each and every thing in your account FIRST and MANUALLY before they consider deleting your account. I have tried to do that in the past. It is like this, you delete something and you think it is deleted, yet in small print, Facebook tells you that somewhere else on Facebook that must be deleted again. Can you imagine going through this process if you have years of entries?

To finish their process, you might have to click tens of hundreds of thousands of times to finally clear out one Facebook account. Look at your friends list, look at your applications list, the wall, the other itmes connected to facebook! If you are the average Facebook member, you will take weeks or months to manually delete it all . And then Facebook can begin to delete your account.

Where is the Delete Button? It is not there. There is no listing in any of their sections to just delete the account. Finally after days of searching, you find the questions, How do I delete my account. The Facebook form letters give you more form answers, telling you you to manually delete all of your items, that means news sources, mini-feeds, news, messages, wall , and more. (If you have already delete these, you go back and send another message to Facebook stating that you have deleted all these. You wait, and you wait and wait some more.

Here is something from the tornado of privacy information that Facebook offers: They offer you the information that they are not responsible for ANYTHING at all that happens to you from your Facebook pages. Their privacy and contract instructions and information state that you are totally responsible for everything and anything that happens to you so they are not liable for ANY damages at all ever to anyone. (That is my wording but that is exactly what Facebook wants. They want out of any responsibility. In other words they have so protected themselves if you have any losses through Facebook, so much that they even put a dollar amount on it stating that you can't claim any more losses than $1,000. (This figure is as of this date of writing. Friday, March 14, 2008

More Tricks: When you try to delete some items, Facebook tells you that you can HIDE the items, but not delete them. Who ever heard of such a thing in any website? You go to delete and it tells you to HIDE it? Last time we looked, delete means to completely delete it and hide means something totally different. Hide means that these applications might be visible to facebook employees and others . (And probaly Facebook has hundreds of employees if not thousands. Do you really want all your personal information hidden rather than deleted? So, unwillingly , you hide all your personal information or whatever is not allowed to be deleted. And then you go back and email them again to say you ant you account permanently deleted. Still with me? The point I am making is that Facebook makes it almost impossible to permanently delete your account. They want you as a permanent customer. They figure at least one or two or more of your friends will convince you to stay with Facebook. If you have gone through this process, you have probably figured out by now that nothing will convince you to go back to Facebook.

Compare Other Websites: If you stop and compare other networking sites (there are plenty of them), you will see that other sites offer you more privacy and they offer a way to delete information and a way to easily delete your account. That is the way that it should be. There are many other sites that permit you to have more control over content.

Facebook is safe? Lots of the people we know, like Facebook because they think (That is THINK) Facebook is safer than other sites. And that could not be further than the truth. Facebook is a website and it is just as unsafe as any other ordinary webiste. They give it the impression, the look as if it is more busines-like (compare it to myspace.com) But what members do not realize is that Facebooks' business is collecting information and denying they have any responsibility to protect you or your friends. No one can or has proven that Facebook is any safer than any other site. So, be cautious on Facebook. Do not believe or think that this site is any safer than any other website. Any information that you type into that site can be obtained by any number of people, including by hackers.

Do You Want to Delete Your Facebook Account? If you want to do this, begin today by manually deleting each and every post,, picture, fun wall applications and any other thing connected to the Facebook account. Do not plan to delete it all in one day if you have hundreds of messages, but begin today.

Tricks for You: Here is a suggestion that you might or might not want to take. Have you thought of deleting all the messages and then posting a message on your fun wall, stating , I am deleting my account due to privacy policies of Facebook and due to the fact that Facebook makes it very difficult to delete items permanently. I am deleting my account on Facebook because I do not like an account that gives me little or no control over my privacy). You can write whatever anti-Fcebook statemnts that you like in your facebook account -as long as it is legal. , to express your opinion of Facebook. Now that might even help you get your account deleted, who knows? I can not imagine that Facebook would want all your negative publicity on your site. Remember type in there only what is legal. If you do this remember not to add any friends and not to add any other applications , gifts, or pictures.

Write and tell me if you are successful in deleting your Facebook - if that is what you want.

YTB MySpace Network Marketing Secrets

YTB or Your Travel Biz is built wonderfully for online marketing. Many network marketing companies are more geared toward building downlines offline. Not YTB. Did you know that Myspace.com has over 200 million people listed? What if you can use Myspace.com to market your network marketing business?

There are a lot of courses and advice from many many people on how to effectively market myspace. In this article I want to share with you some secrets that I have learned and how I have capitalized on this awesome website.

First, let me say that in network marketing one of the main problems I've heard from other people is that they run out of people to talk to. The Internet has changed all that. People should not have to worry about finding people to talk to. Myspace.com is just one social networking website, there are thousands. Myspace.com has over 200 million people that you can potentially network with.

When creating your profile you want to be as genuine as possible. You do not want to sound like spam. Myspace will delete your profile if too many people complain. In the about me section I share a few words about myself and my background. I also upload a brief video of myself by using my webcam. I post this video in the about me section. Video is a powerful medium on myspace because it allows people to connect with you on a personal level. In my video I take a brief minute and advertise my blog or another website.

I have also gone to youtube and found a video I liked and then posted it on my myspace profile. You do this by going to youtube, finding the video you like and copying and pasting the embed code on the right of the video. You paste this code in your myspace profile.

A good place to find free layouts for your myspace profile is ironspider.ca. You will need to copy the code and paste it in your myspace about me box.
Once you have a decent looking profile set up with good content you are ready to start adding friends. On Myspace you can use four ways to market your profile.

1. Adding friends
2. Leaving comments
3. Leaving Bulletins
4. Classifieds

Working myspace can turn into a fulltime endeavor if you work at it consistently. I try to automate this process as much as possible. I 'm currently using software that will automatically trap profiles and automatically send out friend requests, comments, and bulletins. Even though the software has drastically reduced my time I still spend around two hours every day working myspace.

You can do a google search and find good software or you can just do the work manually. However, the software I purchased was only $60.00. The amount of time is saves me is invaluable.

To generate massive traffic to your profiles you want to set up at least five separate profiles and beginning marketing to all five on a daily basis. I send out 200 friend requests each day per profile, I also send out generic positive (not spam) comments to all my friends. I also send out one bulletin a day to all my friends and I have a few classified ads running.

200 friend requests spread out over five profiles is 7000 requests a week. This will generate a lot of free targeted traffic to your websites, blogs, etc. The financial potential you have is great. My personal conversion rates using myspace are higher than using Pay Per Click marketing. I spend hundreds a month on PPC and I spend nothing on myspace.

If you are marketing the YTB opportunity like me I have had free exposure by offering my travel store to all my friends. When they book travel at my site, I get paid. Also, the friends I build a more personal relationship with I introduce to the YTB business opportunity. I encourage you to start adding myspace to your marketing strategy if your currently not using it.

Social Networking Websites - A Fair Playing Field For All - Part 2 Of 2

Peer review is central to many sites where members have an opportunity to rate the work of others. This aspect has come under criticism in sites aimed at young people, particularly Bebo where claims of online bullying amongst schoolchildren are quite common. Many sites operate with moderators, either appointed by other users or by the site operators. The vast majority of sites are self-policed and operate quite successfully in this respect.

All these social networking sites sound wonderful but some come at a cost. Sites such as WAYN have rekindled some old school relationships and resulted in breaking existing ones. Users with little self-control spend hours and sometimes days connecting with other users, keeping their elaborate home pages up-to-date and checking their statistics. More serious is the increasing number of identity theft reports, made easier by the copious amount of details that some users display publicly (particularly amongst third level students).

However, my main issue is more central - that of ageism. All sites request your age when registering and some have no option to opt out of displaying it in your profile. The justification of these sites is an attempt to provide other people within your own range as well as your interests. Stumble Upon is one such site although you do not have to show your age. My main concern is with their 'contact' or 'people online' page, allegedly showing people sharing interests. I am in my mid-40s but they never show anyone aged 40 or over and invariably produce a screen of beautiful-looking things in their twenties (I realize that some people might consider this an advantage!). Conversely, WAYN allow users to configure age bracket and gender when searching for that elusive friend while MySpace permits extremely detailed searches based on specific age, network, interests, gender and location by country.

All of which inspires me, had I the skill and ingenuity, to produce a social networking site aimed at the over 50s or 60s. The scope is clearly there and, doubtless, specialized advertisers might be tempted to supply a new and emerging market on the internet. Otherwise, I would encourage you to explore the increasing array of social networking sites but exercise caution before exposing your online persona!

Social Networking Websites - A Fair Playing Field For All- Part 1 Of 2

An increasing number of people aged 60 and over have turned to the internet for more than just e-mail. Often encouraged by their children and grandchildren, they bought computers with the express aim of basic communication via e mail, but now join the increasing ranks of users adopting the internet as a means of social exchange. Not content with the convenience of e-mails, they have embraced instant messaging services such as MSN and Yahoo Messenger, while subscribing to social networking sites such as Bebo, MySpace, StumbleUpon, Facebook, Yuwie and WAYN.

The internet is the ideal medium by which to mingle youth, experience, culture and enthusiasm. The modus operandi of social networking sites varies somewhat but each presents the opportunity for the user to build an individual and unique web page containing contact details, interests, photographs and a place for comments. All require a valid e-mail address and most request age as proof of identification. Having registered basic details, users may invite their friends or, in many instances, the site offers other people as prospective friends based on common interests, location and age. All incorporate messaging of some sort, enabling ready communication between individuals and groups. Virtually all generate revenue by site advertising; it is also possible that the more unscrupulous operators sell personal information.

The increasing variety of social networking sites has different aims and aspirations. Facebook, one of the more established social networking sites, was originally aimed at college students and quickly built up vast networks. In 2006 it opened its networks to everybody with no third-level affiliation necessary. More controversial was the decision by Facebook to expand their commercial horizons, allowing more aggressive advertising based around members' interests and activities. There was also objection to allowing the general public access and Facebook responded by increasing privacy options.

Microsoft Corporation have two principal social network facets; MSN messenger, the most popular message service amongst pre-teens and teenagers and Windows Live Spaces, offering similar services to Facebook. A recent innovation by new arrival Yuwie is payment to members, depending upon recruitment and popularity. The software keeps a record of usage and rewards users whose friends enroll more subscribers with small payment. The bribe has obviously worked and they claim to enroll about 1000 new member per day but users will not get more than about $1 per month unless they have thousands of network friends.

WAYN (Where are you now?) was aimed at connecting old school friends and initially offered free subscription (like most services) but in 2006 introduced higher membership tiers based on payment. Non-paying members had some features disabled, such as the ability to see who had viewed your site. This change obviously backfired since in 2007 WAYN reintroduced such features to non-paying members. The decision not only reflected on increasing free competition, but undoubtedly led to a reduction in WAYN members.

StumbleUpon mixes some features of existing sites; not only does it allow communication through messaging but it readily encourages members to find and post new websites. These sites can then be seen on that person's home page and, like many social networking sites, also notifies friends of recent changes. The concept is to allow users with specific interests to build bookmarks and broaden web interest; still photographs and simple gif image files may also be posted.

In part two I examine the problems for senior citizens in particular.

Turn Social Networking Contacts Into Affiliate Marketing Customers

This must be the target and to reach this target, you need a deeper and more creative strategy. Just a link on the social networking site is not enough, you have to present a reason, a benefit, why a reader should visit your affiliate marketing site or blog. How would you do this?

The key is like in all advertising, that your social networking link and all copy with that, must be able to stand out from the crowd of many other affiliate marketing texts and to offer unique and useful benefits in a personal way.

As we all know there are several social networking sites, which all need there own approaches. Their business ideas are different ones, so are the targets. The basic idea is to respond to these basic needs.

And you have to determine, whether your affiliate marketing business fits for a social networking site in question. It it does not, do not use it.

For instance, Facebook and MySpace are general social networking sites, but Squidoo has it`s own profile, which is more useful for the affiliate marketing, because it`s ability to get targeted traffic.

The challenge is not to enter these sites, but to draw targeted traffic to your web site or blog. To get the answer to this, you could set yourself into the trousers of your potential prospect in these sites. How you wait that other affiliate marketers or prospects would behave towards you?

1.Affiliate Marketing Is A Numbers` Game, Also In The Social Networking Sites.

This means that you have to grow the number of contacts, to build a base, with whom you can communicate and deepen your image. Around 60 contacts is enough to start with.

Most social networking sites have their own built in tools by which you can get contacts with earlier classmates, old friends and fellows. One great opportunity is to launch invitations to these people or affiliate marketing contacts, when you will meet them.

The big number`s law is incredible: if you build two contacts on the first day and every contact adds two contacts every day, in the end of the month you have over 20 million contacts.

And in the social networking you never know how many contacts your contact has, because they all are networkers!

2.Use Segmented Approach.

The battlefield is the social networking site, other sites there and especially the members, who all are looking some benefits for their own affiliate marketing. The job is simple: offer useful information and do not try to sell anything.

3.The Personal Contacts Are The Best Ones.

The very nature of social networking site is that it is a forum, where other members are waiting for personal approach, so it offers an excellent opportunity to take fruitful contacts and turn them little by little as long term ones.

If usefulness is a key, another key is activity. The more you show your ideas on these sites, the more results you will get. It is a part of the big numbers law!

Facebook Emerging As A Complete Social Phenomenon

We have been hearing about the new emerging trends of social media for quite a long time now. Besides other popular web services, Facebook is one of the biggest social networking website so far. Facebook is all about connecting people and providing them the ability to share. People can share photos, videos, ideas, links and lots of other things on Facebook. In no time they can meet their friends from the workplace, school, college, groups and from anywhere around the world. Facebook is highly popular among high school and college students in particular.

Launched in the year 2004, Facebook is a complete social networking website, founded by Mark Zukerberg, a former Harvard student. With the passage of time, Facebooking has become a complete addiction among youngsters, encouraging them to spend hours on it. Some popular Facebook features include "Status update" that describes the current whereabouts and activity of the user. Another one is "The Wall" which is a space on each user's profile page that allows friends to post messages for the user to see. Other than this it also includes a "poke" feature that allows one user to send a "poke" to another one, basically "nudging" them to attract their attention.

The platform of Facebook allows anyone, anywhere to built applications. It has grown so wide now that it brings all other social networks on Facebook. One of the most admired applications on Facebook is the Photos application, where users can upload albums of photos, tag friends, and comment on photos. The applications developers at Facebook have been constantly trying to create viral applications that can become popular by a simple word-of-mouth. Facebook incorporates various social applications such as Orkut, LinkedIn, MySpace and some other virally growing applications ranging from "Honesty Box", "Will you kiss me", "Rock You" or "Flirtable" to an unlimited number. Facebook also now includes various location and mobile social networking applications in which you can share your location with your friends and let them know what you're up to or in some other cases the users can vote and win free mobile application and games.

An annoying drawback of Facebook is that it has grown up to vast extent, aiming to become everything to everybody. It has lost its exclusivity by overcrowding people from every race and culture. If we compare it to other social networks, their main objective is to keep themselves restricted to a particular segment such as LinkedIn focusing on business/professional users. One of the biggest disadvantage of Facebook is related to privacy issues where the complete user information (even a lot of intimate information) is published online, making it accessible to strange people and potential stalkers at the click of a button. Facebook can solve these problems by initiating separate closed communities for specific schools and organization using the domain extension of edu links.

In the end, keeping aside the criticism for a while, we must appreciate the amount of popularity Facebook has attained in a short time. It features all the elements of web 2.0 services which include (sharing, communities, user generated content etc), but keeping its focus on a specific segment and making things less complex for people will help it to become one of the most successful social networking website of future.

Friendswin - The Video Social Network Reviewed

FriendsWin has just launched its opportunity page and is creating quite a buzz with the internet community. Social Networking is how this generation is communicating with each other, It is a multi-billion dollar industry and networking sites continue to grow at a staggering 90% every year.

The internet is constantly changing and advancing technologically and Friendswin is leading the pack by offering an interface that harnesses the technology that we will ALL be using very soon. Every where you turn, there is a video broadcasting something online. We actually prefer the sites that are showing videos. Computers are now being installed with webcams.

Some say Friendswin is revolutionizing the social networking industry because it's primary interface for communication will be video. Some of the features will be:

Video Conferencing- You will be able to communicate with up to 10 people simultaneously while being able to see everyone in the same room with the ability to instantly click into a private live video conference.

Video Online Dating - I know it sounds kind of funny, but you will be able to have an "Internet Date". Think about all of the pressures that will not be there that are there on a physical date with someone you met online.

Video Resumes - This will Revolutionize the hiring process. Employers will be able to screen their applicants, and applicants will be able to be more creative in their self promotion.

These along with several other unique features will be available through the Friendswin network.

Now imagine if you involved with My Space in the beginning and could have profited from all the members invited after you got in. You would surely be a millionaire right now.

The difference with Friendswin, and the other social networks out there, is that there is an income opportunity attached to this. You will actually be able to profit from all of the members getting involved after you. Many social networks are moving in this direction.

There are 2 levels to get involved. One is $50 and the other is $139. The $50 level only gives you a referral link and limited access to the back office. The $139 level enables you complete access to the back office complete with a professional auto-responder series, a high converting sales page, 30 day access to the tutorial classes and the ability to draw a $40 commission off of every premium sign up. It seems the best bang for the buck would be the $139 investment.

Getting involved now appears to be the best route because the site is only open for opportunity seekers for the next few weeks. Then it will open with all of the video features where the compensation structure is designed to pay large commissions to those involved early.

The buzz is that, there are several Venture Capitalists backing friendswin and many other big companies looking to dump millions into it.

Experts are saying that myspace finally has a competitor that is pushing the envelope when it comes to the video features of todays online experience.

If you've ever wanted to be in the front of something big, with the platform of success firmly planted, you need to find out what the buzz is all about with Friendswin by Clicking Here!

Orkutting To Glory

Orkut, a social networking website that helps you make friends and maintain old friends in this busy world. It has emerged as one of the most popular social networking website.

If the name of the website doesn't automatically draw you in, there is a good chance that the website features will. Like many other social networking websites, Orkut has a number of different member benefits. These benefits are what make it worthwhile to become a member of this popular social networking website.

As popular as Orkut is and as much as you would like to join, there are special procedures that you must follow. Unfortunately, Google does not allow just anyone to become a member; you must be invited. Although many internet users refrain from joining Orkut, just because of the invitation requirements, there is a good reason for limited membership. Orkut is a social networking website that is free to use. Unfortunately, free means that many people would wish to use the website. Many online social networking sites, that are free to use, have literally become ridiculous. A large number of Internet users get joy out of creating fake accounts and causing online controversy. Google decided to make Orkut a special membership online website to prevent instances like that from happening.

So, as compared to the early structure where anyone could visit any person's account and get to know the personal details and conversations taking place between individuals there, one has now the option to restrict visitors. Members can create their profiles and display their unique hobbies, interests and other biographical information. You can even add pictures to your profile so your friends know exactly what you look like, even if you have never met in person. Also, you can browse through the large Orkut.com member database to see profiles for individuals who match your interests, hobbies, or other search selections. Orkut seems to have been successful in reaching the markets that other social networking sites haven't. The fact that it is owned by Google lends to a lot of credibility. Recently, Orkut is also being used for job recruitment purposes as well.

Promoting Your Bar or Nightclub Through Myspace

Many people believe that Myspace is nothing more than a place to meet friends and interact with people on the internet from all over the world in a social manner. However, what you may not know is that Myspace can be a great place for businesses as well. Business owners, entrepreneurs, musicians, and those in the entertainment business are using Myspace each and every day to promote themselves, their services, and their products.

For nightclub or bar owners Myspace can be a great way to promote your specials, events, or even your establishment itself. You see nearly every household in the world today has a computer or at the very least access to a computer. Myspace has thousands, upon thousands, of visitors each day. Just think what those people could do for your business.

How can you use Myspace to promote your nightclub or bar? Well, it is simple really. Let's say you are having a party to celebrate a holiday such as Halloween or New Years you could use your Myspace profile to basically advertise all aspects of your party. For example, if you were going to have costume judging and prizes, you would place all the information right there on your profile. You would want to include any specials going on that night, as well as if there is a cover charge and hours as well.

Myspace can also be great for promoting bands and DJ's as well. You could make it a habit of posting all weekly live entertainment right on your Myspace profile. If you have karaoke each week or more often, you could include a calendar. This will allow any person visiting your profile to know exactly what is going on at any given day of the week.

If you offer pool leagues, darts, special sports related activities, and specials on drinks this is a great way to get your business noticed and gives your customers, as well as future customers the best possible information about your business. It is a well-known fact that most people opt to search online for information as opposed to picking up the telephone and contacting a business. You do not need a website, just a Myspace profile.

Now you are probably wondering how exactly can I reach the people I want for my nightclub or bar? That is a very good question. Myspace is a world wide social network, therefore, targeting the whole world is really not necessary, especially if your business is located in Bloomington, Illinois. Would people in Texas come to your establishment? Likely not, unless they were visiting the area on business or to see family members. It is entirely possible with it being the home of State F; however, you cannot count on that.

What you really need is to target your specific audience. There are many programs that are the answer to all your problems and needs. You see, Myspace allows you to search for people in a defined range, such as gender, age, and location. You could make "friends" and invite people to add you as well in your specified audience. It could take literally years to go through all of the people in your area and on Myspace. MyFriendBuilder makes it easy to find your audience and make them aware of your nightclub or bar.

You could also specify a certain age group. The bar crowd is typically between 21 and 31 years of age, you could make this a definition. The entire goal is to promote your business, with a local business such as a nightclub or bar, it is necessary to promote only to people within your area that is likely to visit.

Myspace Templates Layouts - Tips For Themes, Designs, Backgrounds and Samples

So what is the big deal with Myspace? With social network sites trying to duplicate the success of the master, getting into the game is simple. Trying to promote yourself or product is the tricky part. Most all of us have visited websites and were in awe when we saw a cool site. On the other hand we have also gone and saw a site that we were thinking to ourselves that a newbie or 2 year old built this.

The key to starting a Myspace or site for that matter is keeping it simple. The first thought you need to think about is going to be my theme. Am I going to build it around a product or myself. If you are going to build it around a product like a baseball bat, then in your mind you are going to design everything around that. Maybe get a layout with a baseball team or player. If you are going to build a site around yourself, than think about your career or a hobby you enjoy. If your hobby is collecting baseball cards then build your theme around it. This is the most important step in starting your site.

Now that you have an idea about your layout theme the next step you need to do is acquire a template. There are lots of free to use templates around by doing a search for one. A template is what you will structure your content on your site with. You need to make a judgement for yourself on this procedure. While figuring out what type of layout or template you are choosing, you need to match it up with backgrounds. This is where some people get it wrong and your friends or associates will not be visiting you if they can avoid it. The reason you have to match up your template or layout with your background is the text that is written on your site. I have seen very nice sites built but was unable to easily read the blog or blurb on a persons site. Patterns and graphics are great to have but if it clashes with ease of viewing, throw it out. Some sites will let you get a complete layout and background to use. Take advantage of these models because the colors, borders, wallpapers and skins already matchup pretty good.

Now that you have these in place you have to fill it up with content. Remember visual ease is key. Loading up your content with no structure is where you will have a less than ideal site. The suggestion I would give if you use MP3 sounds on your site is to have your music player placed on the top part of your site. Why? Some visitors to our page will not like the music you play. Give them the option to turn it off. On the other hand, if they like your pages audio, they can easily check out more of your music taste.

With so many cool widgets gadgets to place on your page the best thing is sample different things and see if you like it or not. The key to building a nice site is thinking of your friends and associates. Do they have ease of use or not. Ask yourself this as you build it and you will not fail. The last suggestion I can give is feed your baby. Constantly upkeep with photos, content and updated movie clips. Send messages to all your friends when you upload a file. Change around logos or wallpapers. Constantly feed it and it will grow. Starve it and it will die.

Express Yourself With Messenger Emoticons

Emoticon is really an abbreviation for emotion icon. Emoticons are representations, either typed or graphical, that express a particular mood or emotion. They are usually put after a particular sentence to convey an emotion, not only happy or sad but confused, startled, puzzled or angry. Typically these emoticons are used in programs such as Microsoft or Yahoo Messenger, blogs, forums, e-mails, social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook and in many other internet communications.

Writers have been trying to express emotion from the written word for eons. As man evolved from caves to buildings, these basic symbols evolved into complex creations of art.In the post Anglo-Saxon period, the question mark and exclamation point have been two accepted "emoticons" to infuse a sentence with an expressed sentiment. In the modern age, some credit Kevin Mackensie in 1979 for using -) denoting a tongue-in-cheek expression. But it was Scott E. Fahlman who is credited with popularizing the first generation emoticon, the famous smiley. In 1982 on the CMU bulletin system, he posited the use of :-) for a smile and :-( for a frown. Otherwise, he said, readers would not know if a statement was meant seriously or in jest. This system spread like wildfire through the internet world and is still used today. Unfortunately, Fahlman didn't save his posts. It would take 20 years for Jeff Baird to find a backup of the posts. Today, his claim is generally regarded at gospel.

The yellow graphical smiley became popular in the early 1970s as brothers Murray and Bernard Spain seized upon the graphic and popularized it by putting in on buttons, coffee mugs, t-shirts and bumper stickers. Starting in the 1980s, small smiley emoticons were included in Windows wingding font tables. Today, you can find colorful line-ups of emoticons in Internet Messaging software and in dedicated web sites that categorize many hundreds of these rascals. These symbols can represent other objects of subjects, not just emotions. A few popular categories are animals, clowns, people, text, trademarks and more. Popular sub-categories are winking eyes called "winks," animated emoticons and even 3D animated objects. Emoticons are fun to look at and very useful in spicing up otherwise routine correspondence.

One word of caution, emoticons are most effective if used in moderation. Overused they lose their impact. Most discouraged is answering a post with simply an emoticon. This is considered bad etiquette and can be seen as a form of spam. Use your creativity to use the perfect emoticon at the right moment.

10 Tips For Promoting Your Webcam On Myspace

Providing entertainment for others with a webcam can be a great way to make money from home, providing entertainment for others. It's possible to earn a lot of money working as an adult webcam model-it all depends on your motivation. MySpace can be a great way to promote your cam but you have to be careful how you market yourself or will violate the MySpace Terms of Service (TOS) and your profile will be deleted. It really sucks to invest time in building a network of friends only to have to start again from scratch-it's a total waste of time. See below to read the MySpace TOS.

Here are some suggestions that can help you promote yourself on MySpace, attract a following and most important, earn money as an adult webcam model. Remember though, the most successful webcam models are self-driven, motivated and dedicated to self-promotion.

  1. Locate yourself in a large city (e.g., Beverly Hills, Miami, Las Vegas, or something similar): It can help if you locate yourself in cities where you're likely to find a lot of wealthy men there who will gladly pay to see you online.
  2. Keep your layout simple: Overly flashy graphics and sounds can be slow to load and distracting.
  3. Post an attractive non-nude photo of yourself. The goal is to entice people to want to see more without being raunchy: Red is an effective color to wear for the picture. Also, post more than one picture of yourself and add new photos regularly.
  4. Post a video of yourself (remember to keep it clean though or you'll violate the TOS and risk getting your profile deleted) and update it regularly.
  5. Use descriptive phrases when discussing yourself: Don't open with "I'm an adult webcam model." There are thousands of people trying to promote their cams on MySpace-most of them don't put a lot of thought into their profiles. They post a few photos, talk about how "hot and horny" they are, spam anyone and everyone, get their profiles deleted and start all over again. Your goal should be to develop a large network of regular visitors. Let your personality show-be yourself, use your imagination and say something interesting. Don't make the fact that you're a webcam model the focal point of your profile.
  6. Get relevant friends-a profile with lots of friends is interesting. If you don't have friends, you're apparently not popular and therefore not very interesting. The secret is to get friends that are going to be interested in you. While it's important and looks impressive to have lots of friends on your page, it won't put any money in your pocket if they aren't going to spend money watching your webcam shows. Use the MySpace search feature to browse for friends-use the advanced search feature to target your audience. Search for popular profiles and cozy up to them-like attracts like. Look for interesting (and good looking) friends and put them in your top eight. Don't just put porn stars there-everybody does that. Search for friends on Google (put "myspace" and your keywords in the search box). Friend generators: MySpace does not allow the use of automated friend generators. If you get caught using one, your profile could be deleted.
  7. Network-the key to success on MySpace is interacting with a lot of different people: Join a lot of different groups. If you're a guy, join as many gay and modeling groups that you can. Also, browse the MySpace forums--find ones that look interesting and get involved.
  8. Stay logged into your MySpace account: By staying logged in as much as possible because it will keep your photo up near the top of the list and more people will see you.
  9. Communicate-interacting with others is vital to successfully promoting yourself and your webcam on MySpace. You should use your profile, not your actions (messaging, comments, etc.), for promotion. REMEMBER: You are dealing with people. Do not spam people. Sending out mass MySpace messages is spamming and will get your profile deleted. Make your communication with others natural and interesting-don't overtly promote yourself. Visit your friends often and leave comments on their profiles. You can just say hello, wish them a great day or whatever-just try and say something interesting. Remember that new comments move the older ones farther down the page and eventually off the page so the more you stay in touch, the greater the likelihood that your comment will stay on the first page and people will visit your profile. When someone adds you as a friend, send them a comment thanking them. Use bulletins to send the same message to all your friends at the same time. Be careful what you say so that you don't get flagged as a spammer. Use the MySpace blog feature. Give people a reason to want to visit your profile and update your blog regularly. Post to groups but always be sure to read the rules before you do so or you'll get kicked out and/or banned.
  10. Link to your website or blog on your profile page. Although the MySpace TOS says that Content/prohibited activities includes content that, "contains nudity, violence, or offensive subject matter or contains a link to an adult website," most people involved in adult industries that have MySpace profiles do have at least one link to their site. The best advice I can give you is to check out other profiles. Once you're outside of the watchful eye of MySpace you've got a lot more freedom of expression in regards to promoting yourself and your webcam shows.

Social Networking On The Net Through Orkut

Orkut is a social networking site where you can make new friends and catch up with old ones. The success of this site is so great it can be judged by a Brazilian song composed by an Orkut user where the lyrics go like this- I will delete you from my Orkut, a song of betrayal and love lost. It has become so popular that many people are doing their own videos of this song on youtube!

Orkut is run by Google, and was created by one of its employees Orkut Büyükkökten after whom it has been named. It was launched in 2004 and has experienced exponential growth, especially in the two Americas and Southeast Asia. It has grown so much that the owners are also surprised from where all the users have come, and how to cope with them.

Currently, there are about twenty two million users on Orkut, and growing every day. Initially membership could be obtained only by invitation from a person who already had an account in Orkut, though from October 2006 Orkut has allowed users to open an account even without invitation.

When one creates a profile on Orkut, the profile has different categories like personal, professional and social. It is up to you to give how much information you want. You can specify if you want your information to be seen by all, or to a selected few. You can also preview your profile as a friend, friend of friend, or stranger, thus allowing you total control over how your profile works.

Since the main aim of this site is social networking, the whole idea is to make new friends besides being in touch with old friends. There are so many friends who have been reunited due to this site after many years of being out of touch. You can even rate your friends by giving them symbols if they are intimate, close or casual, and interesting add-ons like hearts and becoming fans add to the overall charm. You can get a lot of information about your friends on this site; it is also very useful for forgetful people who forget important days as it automatically lists the upcoming birthday of anyone on your friend's list. It also has a scrap book for messages, and an album to paste photos you want to share with your friends.

This site is most popular in Brazil, next comes the U.S and India follows at the third place, where it has been the topic of political debates as it is being considered as immoral. Whatever the controversy, it is still very successful and is the second most popular site in India after Yahoo, pushing even Google to the third place.

However, one controversy surrounding Orkut is that it asks the users to enter their religion and sexual orientation, which has been of a great objection among the people. It has also been seen that this site is also being misused by some unscrupulous people to further their nefarious activities, some even using it trick people and earn extra money . Young children at an impressionable age also have an access to this site, and they do so by entering false information about their date of birth.

Overall the success of orkut has been phenomenal, to say the least. Now, of course, the owners have come to terms with their success and learnt how to deal with the increased website traffic thanks due to the phenomenal success of Orkut.

How Do I Create A Zwinky

There is a good chance if you have children that use a computer you will have heard them talking about their Zwinkys.

So what are Zwinkys? They are of course the MySpace profile cartoon avatars that are sweeping the social networking community by storm. Basically, in order to let the world know who you are at a glance you choose a cartoon character.

They have become a real craze over the last year particularly among teenage girls. What they do is let you customize a character depending on what sort of mood you are in. You can add a toolbar to your Internet browser or instant messenger and loads of sites and web applications.

The good think about Zwinkys is one day your character can be a guy with blonde hair and a tank top, the next day have a shirt and shades on. Same if you are a girl. One day you may feel like being a pretty brunette with pencil skirt. Next you can be a teenager with a mini skirt.

You can also accessorize if necessary. Everything is left up to the user and this is one of the real benefits of this great fun application. There are thousands of options for expressing yourself.

The best think is they are totally free. All you have to do is download the toolbar and you are ready to go. Everything is totally automated for you.

So who is using Zwinkys? Well pretty much anyone, although if you are over 25 then probably they wont be for you. Nothing to stop you downloading one, but they are better fun if all your mates have them.

Basically they are just a fun little application for people that spend a lot of time on sites like MySpace and chatting on MSN messenger.

There are loads of different sites that offer free Zwinkys. Just type the name into a search engine and you will be spoiled for choice.

MySpace DIV Layouts - What They Are and How to Use Them

Does your MySpace profile emanate such a stink that your eyes begin to water every time you look at it?

You may due for a change and your ticket out of the most-hideous-web-design contest could be doing a search for 'myspace div layouts' or 'myspace overlays'. Now before your techie-talk alert meter goes jumping into the red and you run away from your computer screaming a string of profanities, let me explain.

First of all, for those of you who have been living in the outer reaches of the galaxy for the past two years, let me get you up to speed on what's been happening down here on planet earth...

MySpace is a social networking website which allows you to quickly and easily create a free and personal web page. These web pages --which are hosted at MySpace.com-- are called MySpace profiles. MySpace layouts --which are widely available all over the internet-- are little snippets of HTML/CSS code (mostly CSS) which you can use to instantly customize your profile.

Now, a MySpace DIV layout (a.k.a., MySpace overlay) is just like MySpace layout in that you copy-and-paste it into a box on your 'Edit Profile' screen in order to modify your profile's background image, background colors, fonts and what have you. What differs is how a DIV layout modifies your profile. Typically, MySpace layouts will allow all your default MySpace modules (e.g., your basic info box, contact table, interests box, top friends space, comments section, etc) to show through. MySpace DIV layouts, on the other hand, will hide the default modules on your profile and put a completely different arrangement of columns and data on top.

Traditionally, MySpace DIV layouts hid all your default MySpace modules and then layed a new web design over top (hence 'overlay'). Some of the more complex overlays required you to write up your own HTML coding in order to rebuild your top friends list from scratch (which is usually several atmospheres above the typical MySpace user's web design capabilities).

Nowadays, since MySpace has implemented many new CSS classes into the default MySpace template, greater control can be applied to each individual MySpace module. Hence it is now a lot easier to pick and choose which modules to hide or display on your profile using CSS coding.

Hence, a new wave of MySpace DIV layouts are starting to appear where your top friends and/or your friends comments sections are allowed to show through while all other modules on your profile are hidden and replaced with new specially designed sections and columns. This allows for the best of both worlds where the MySpace.com Cold Fusion scripting is permitted to handle the insertion of new friends and comments into the appropriate sections on your profile while the DIV layout CSS code handles all the rest. A good DIV layout will actually make your MySpace profile look like a 'real' web page (*chuckle*) with a header banner, a professional-looking vertical menu running down the left side and a content area in the center.

As for the installation of DIV layouts, they do require a little more than just a quick copy-and-paste. Since DIV layouts handle the insertion of all the links that lets other MySpace users message you or add you as a friend or load your pics or blog page, you'll need a special code which will make all those links work properly. This code is called your 'friend ID' and is easily obtained by clicking on the 'view profile' link on your MySpace account home page. Once on your profile, you have only to look in the web address box at the top of your web browser and then select and copy all the numbers appearing after 'friendid='. This is the so-called friend ID numbered code that you'll use to create your DIV layout (usually via a DIV layout generator at a MySpace resource site).

And that's pretty much everything you need to know about this new genre of web designs for MySpace pages. So if you're tired of using a layout on your profile that looks like it was created by a nose-picking, hyperactive six-year-old, you may want to think about delving into the world of MySpace DIV layouts. It could be just the thing you need to add a touch of class to your little corner of the social networking scene.

Robert Darrell is the chief cook and bottle washer of RobThunder.com where he provides a collection of exceptional MySpace DIV layouts that are very easy to install. These layouts are professional multi-column table less web designs using 100% original background images and cross-browser compatible CSS coding.

Robert has made hundreds of MySpace layouts over the past two years. He also has a collection of traditional MySpace layouts, that are high-quality, free and easy-to-use.

How To Reveal The Hidden Comments On A MySpace Page

If you have ever gone to a friends MySpace profile and noticed that they have hidden their comments, I'm sure you felt very "out of the loop". Or worse, what if you have kids that have a MySpace and you went to their page and noticed that they have blocked their public comments from the prying eyes of Mom and Dad. Don't worry, you can still see them if you look in the right place. I'm sure you are even more curious about their comments now that you can't see them. It kind of makes you wonder what they are hiding.

It seems that some clever people have found a way to make their comments appear to be hidden from the public. That's right, somewhere in there profile they have added the code to hide the comments that were posted by their friends for all to see. If I wanted my comments to be private I would send them to you in a message. I wanted all of your friends to know that I was wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Well, these comments were meant to be viewed by all so let's get into the simple trick to get these sneaky little guys back into the sunlight. Go to your friends page, the one that has the hidden comments. If you'll notice up in the address bar of your web browser there is a long URL that seems to make no sense at all. Look for the part where it says, "&friendid=". The number to the left of the equals sign is the friend ID number, write this down, you will need it to see the comments.

Now, erase all of that stuff in your browsers address bar and replace it with: http://comment.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewComments&friendID= And type the Friend ID number at the end after the equals sign. Click on go or hit enter and the mystery is revealed.

This will not work on just anyone that has a MySpace account. If their profile is set to "private", you have to be their friend to view their comments, even the hidden ones. This little trick only allows you to read the comments that you could normally read if the friend had not set them up to be hidden.

Use Online Social Networking to Help Build Your Business

I remember a time, as I am sure many of you have, back in high school (for some of us, way back in high school), that being popular was the "in thing". The popular kids seemed to get the breaks, the perks, the girls (or attention from the guys for you ladies).

Some people might grow to resent that. For whatever reason, they dressed nice, came from a more well to do family, they were more athletic and so on.

Fast forward to today and the internet generation. There is a term floating out there called Web 2.0. No it is not the latest version of some technology tool crafted by Microsoft. The term is used to describe the direction the internet has moved to and that is social networking.

Social networking is the means by which you socialize online and network with others through a variety of web sites. You might be doing it already and not even know it. If you are on Facebook or MySpace, then yes you are already engaging in the practice of social networking.

Online socialization is the new wave and should be utilized even for your business, products or services. If you do not have a profile on these social networking sites yet, you should create one. It is free of charge and gives you a nice way to get the word out about who you are and what you have to offer.

If you do not think networking online is that important then just take a quick glance at MySpace. On there you will see everything from business socializing to get the word out on products they are offering just in time for the Easter holiday, to NASCAR`s Chase for the cup series.

Businesses are on there to socialize, add people (customers) to their friends list, and so much more.

Get started socializing online so you can build your customer base. Its not an overnight process, but with some time and good online social skills, you can become that "super" popular person that existed way back in high school, only now it translates into sales.

Rob Benwell begins Blogging to the Bank 2.0. by looking back at the 16 months since the release of the original Blogging to the Bank. Rob discusses the impact this release had on blogs (particularly Blogger blogs) and how this led to the creation of his five blogging commandments. The five blogging commandments are what Rob believes are essential for your blogs success and provide an overview of the whole ebook. Obviously, I cannot spoil Rob's ebook by revealing them here but they do contain some good information to keep your visitors coming back and reading your blog. After this introduction Rob gets into the main body of his ebook.

Rob begins by discussing Market Research & Keyphrase Lists. This is a very important stage as it ultimately determines what you will be blogging about. Rob emphasises the importance of taking your time and discusses how you can find affiliate products using ClickBank. He also describes how to to do some basic keyword research using a couple of free tools. Overall, I found this chapter to be a great introduction to affiliate marketing and in particular keyword research. Before reading the chapter I knew almost nothing about keyword research and whilst I'm still no expert I now know the basics of optimising my blog and its pages.

Rob then moves on to discuss creating your blog. First, he outlines how to actually install your blog. Then he moves on to discuss the four options available to you when getting content for your blog. After this he outlines how to optimise, monetise and ping your blog. Overall, this section of Blogging to the Bank 2.0 contains a lot of good information. I was particularly impressed by Rob's use of screenshots and instructions to explain his ideas. I'm a big fan of screenshots and feel they really help beginners. The section on monetisation was also a real help for me too. My main criticism of this section was that Rob does not explain how to automate the pinging of your blog. This is a relatively simple process but for some reason Rob ignores it.

If you have followed Rob's instructions up to this point you should have your blog ready to go. Logically, Rob goes on to outline how you can promote your blog and get some traffic. The topics he covers in this section include basic promotion techniques (including article syndication, forum marketing and link exchanges) and Web 2.0. techniques. Web 2.0. is a phrase that describes the trend in web development towards creativity, collaboration and sharing between users (good examples of successful Web 2.0. websites are Facebook and YouTube). Whilst the basic promotion techniques are good, I was very impressed with the Web 2.0. section. Before reading this chapter I had stuck primarily to article marketing but now I have my first Squidoo lens out there and I am getting a lot of extra traffic from social bookmarking sites. My main criticism about this chapter is the section on DIGG (a social bookmarking site). Whilst Rob did open my eyes to a very good resource he did not make it clear that DIGG will ban you if you just submit your own blog posts, which is what happened to me.

Rob finishes his ebook by discussing some advanced techniques including outsourcing the creation of your blogs, creating your own product in the market you are blogging for and even selling your blog. I have not tried any of the techniques in this section yet but I am planning on creating some of my own products to sell to my blog readers.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend Blogging to the Bank 2.0. if you are looking to start your first blog, or even get more serious with your current blogging. After reading Rob's ebook I decided to make my first serious blog (i.e. a blog in a niche topic that I would be updating regularly) and whilst I am not making nearly enough to retire on, I am generating an increased amount of traffic and revenue each month as a direct result of Rob's techniques. My main criticisms of Blogging to the Bank 2.0. are that Rob seems to miss certain things out. A section on how to ping your blog automatically would have been really useful to some readers and there are a number of helpful WordPress plugins I have come across that Rob does not feature in his ebook. However, these are only small criticisms. By following the instructions inside Blogging to the Bank 2.0. I believe a relative beginner could quite easily get a monetised blog online in a short period of time.

How To Find New Releases For Your PSP by Using PSP Game Downloads

One of the best features the PSP has is being able to use PSP game downloads instead of having to run out to the store and buy a new game each time you see one you want to try. Here's a simple way to find lots of PSP downloads you can start using today.

You have three main options to find PSP game downloads. Once you start downloading games for your system it can get extremely addictive!

Let's take a closer look:

PSP Game Downloads - Option #1

Your first option is search for websites that offer "free" PSP downloads and try to find games that you want to try. It sounds great at first, however there are a few things you need to know to protect yourself before you try this.

Many of the websites that claim to offer free PSP downloads are full of viruses and spyware. There isn't anyone monitoring these sites so it's extremely common for random people to upload files that will damage your computer or PSP.

Beside this, the biggest problem I have with these websites is that you rarely actually get the game you were looking for. These sites are also known for having extremely slow download speeds.

Many of the files are "corrupt" meaning they don't work at all, and many of them have the wrong titles. You can wait a whole day for something to download just to find out it wasn't what you wanted.

Recently many of these sites have been shut down for spreading viruses and distributing illegal downloads. If you do decide to try them out, do you research and be careful.

PSP Game Downloads - Option #2

This option will protect you from viruses, get you faster download speeds and files that actually work, but it will cost you some cash.

There are PSP download website that charge a monthly membership fee for access to PSP games, movies and music. You can download game whenever you want, but they may also charge a fee for each download you use.

This is a decent option since the membership is usually about $30 a month. That's less than the cost of one game at the store, however there are cheaper ways to get the same downloads.

Let's have a look at your next option.

PSP Game Downloads - Options #3

This last option is very similar to the second, but a lot cheaper. It's the best way to get PSP downloads whenever you want without worrying about putting your computer at risk.

You can find PSP download membership sites that charge a "one-time only" membership fee for unlimited downloads. You will only be charged once - this gets you a membership for life.

All you do is login to the site whenever you want to download a game or movie. They have all the new releases and since they are run by professional companies, the downloads are fast, secure and completely legal.

The memberships aren't expensive ($35-$50) and include the software you need to transfer the games and movies onto your PSP.

You can find out how to get a free trial at the top ranked download sites by going to http://www.pspmaxed.com,

Part of the reason the PSP keeps growing in popularity is the ability to use PSP game downloads. By joining a membership site you get access to all of the games for the PSP, along with movies and other files. It's the best way to keep your PSP full of the newest and most popular games. Happy gaming!

Banned From Adsense, I Have a Solution

I was banned from Google adsense for no reason of my own. I was editing my site with new adsense text and my wife asked me to go to the store to pick up some items. We had several family members at the house eating, drinking, and watching football. My computer was running and my website was on the screen. In my absence, some of my family members clicked on a number of the ads. The next morning, I received an email from Google stating that my account was flagged for illegal clicks and it was cancelled. I lost $800 in advertising revenue. I sent Google an email stating that I did not personally click the ads but to no avail. Google would not hear my case.

Well, I became desperate as my little income suddenly dried up. My search took me to the Internet. I found out about an online system you can use to multiply your ClickBank affiliate marketing efforts. And the best part is that it's free to join!

http://www.bettertextads.com/28908

Now, you're probably thinking to yourself that this is just another one of those sites

that gets you to sign up for the basic service and then hits you with one-time-only

offers for upgrades and related products, right?

WRONG! When you join, you get access to the full system at no cost...EVER!

The system is called BetterTextAds.com and, like the name suggests, it is a content

relevant text ad service...but with a twist.

It's also a viral marketing tool. It lets you build an Affiliate Marketing Team whose

members all work for you to help you earn commissions from the products promoted

through the system.

There's much more to BetterTextAds.com than I can get to in this short message. So click

the link below to visit the site yourself. You’ll see firsthand why I'm so excited about this incredible program.

http://www.bettertextads.com/28908

I got my membership. Shouldn't you get yours?

Sincerely,

- William

With the launch of the new Wii console, it has caused many of us to wonder if we can actually copy Wii games. With a quick search online, it turns out there are not many options to choose from. However, all is not lost, because the software that is out there, works fantastic! Doing this in games and burning these games used to be a dreadful task just a couple of months ago, Now all of the headache has been removed and now you can literally copy wii games in three simple steps.

A good burning program will offer both the option to copy and burn your games. Not only this but it must be easy to use. The support for classic Nintendo games means that you now have the ability to copy your older favorites, as well as the latest and greatest games. If you want to begin copying games, find some reliable software.

In order to copy Wii games, you are required to download special software for copying and to burn your games. This software will allow you to read and copy Wii games discs. Also, the software will allow you to burn any game your copy onto a DVD disc. Remember, to copy the games, you will have to use a software that can read Nintendo wii game discs. If you don't have any software that can read the disc on your computer, your computer will not recognize the disc as it should.

Once you have your software, you can begin the process to backup your games. This can be accomplished in three simple steps. Step 1: Insert your game disc to be copied. Step 2: Insert a blank dvd to copy the game onto. Step 3: Enjoy your new backup of your game. How much more simple does it get?

If you want to do this, it's easy to find software to burn them. However, choosing the software that will be able to actually read is the hard part. Download Games Onto iPhone - Learn How You Can Do This Today

With the release of the iPhone it has bought a new standard in mobile phones and as you know if you own one, it is more like a tiny computer then a mobile phone! One of the most popular things that people seem to be doing is learning how to Download Game Onto iPhone. If you have not got round to it, this article will explain the most popular methods of how people are doing this and then recommend the best one.

Here are the top methods you can use to Download Game Onto iPhone Today:

Process 1

Search engines! All you need to do is go to a search engine and type in iPhone games and you will soon find a lot of free Java games and some of them are very good quality. It is not really strictly doing it, though as a lot of them are just played within a browser that looks like the iPhone in your web browser. The main problem with this method is that you have to use different providers and if you are too far away or out of their area then you will not be able to play the games.

Process 2

The next way you can do this is with membership websites. You can find plenty about on the net but the major problem here is the price! Most of these membership websites will charge you monthly and can be about $40 and up! I am sure you agree the cost can soon add up and if you don't use the website for a month you will still be charged!

Process 3

Peer to peer networks. This is a fairly old method of getting any sort of media that you want from the internet and is not recommended! The method has been in the news and the only way that it is legal is if you actually own the game that you are downloading and are making a "back up". They are really clamping down on the masses of people that are using peer to peer networks and if you are thinking of using this method I would not advise it as a few people have been fined and some have even had court hearings!

Process 4

After the above methods you might be feeling a little down in the mouth and wondering if it is possible to get iPhone Games. Well the good news is there are some sites on the net that are more "specialist" and although most of them are not free. They take the membership website idea and basically provide the same service for a lot less cash.

You will pay about 20 - 30 bucks to access the service and then that's it! You get access to millions of media files and the money gets used for the upkeep of the website. You do not have to be technically minded to "Download Game Onto iPhone and hopefully the above methods have shown you how you can do this with ease!

MySpace Agrees to Youth Protections

Published: January 14, 2008

The social networking Web site MySpace and the attorneys general for 49 states announced Monday that they had reached an agreement under which MySpace would make a number of changes aimed at protecting teenagers and children using its site from sexual predators.

“Today’s agreement makes it harder for adults to sexually solicit children online," said Tom Corbett, the Pennsylvania attorney general.

The announcement of expanded cooperation between the states — as well as the District of Columbia — and MySpace, a division of the News Corporation, came eight months after the attorneys general from eight states charged that the site had not done enough to block sexual predators from the service and had failed to cooperate with the authorities.

MySpace, which was started about four years ago and claims roughly 70 million users, is the most popular social networking Web site. Law enforcement officials say the site has attracted sex offenders and other individuals who are attempting to exploit children.

In Pennsylvania, for example, 31 of the 54 individuals arrested on child predator charges in 2007 had active MySpace profiles, Mr. Corbett said. Company officials also announced last year that they had removed 29,000 convicted sex offenders from the site.

MySpace already reviews all images and videos that users post on their pages, mostly through technological filtering. The site also deletes the profiles of registered sex offenders and makes the profiles of 14- and 15-year-olds automatically private.

Under the agreement announced Monday, MySpace will classify as private all profiles of users under the age of 18, strengthen its response to complaints of inappropriate content on the site; and organize a task force of Internet businesses, nonprofit organizations and technology companies to review and develop online safety tools. The site will also accept independent monitoring. The agreement is not a binding legal document, and users will likely be able to circumvent some of the changes.

“Rather than treating the online and offline world differently, our goal has been, and will continue to be, to make our virtual neighborhoods as safe as our real ones," said Hemanshu Nigam, the chief security officer for MySpace and its parent company Fox Interactive Media.

The states had been in talks with MySpace for almost two years. At a news conference in midtown Manhattan on Monday, the attorneys general acknowledged that law enforcement officials and social networking sites still do not see eye to eye on some specific changes. Most significantly, the two sides differ on the feasibility of new technology that would authenticate age and identity.

“We are not papering over or concealing our continued differences,” said Roy Cooper, the attorney general for North Carolina. “We’re going to work to bridge them. At the same time, we are going to continue to enforce laws against every child predator who threatens our children or anyone else on social networking sites.”

Mr. Cooper and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut led the multistate working group on social networking. The group noted that states have explored litigation that would require social networking sites to make certain changes. Mr. Cooper and Mr. Blumenthal would not rule out future legal options, but said a partnership made more sense at the present time.

“Today, we are talking about a cooperative path that can realistically lead to better technology,” Mr. Blumenthal said. “What we have in common is much more important than what we would have in conflict.”

The attorneys general said they would encourage other social networking sites, including Facebook, to adopt the model adopted by MySpace. Last year, after an investigation by Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo of New York, Facebook agreed to post stronger warnings about the dangers to children using the site and to respond more quickly to complaints from users about inappropriate sexual messages.

At the time, Mr. Cuomo predicted that the settlement would become a “new model” under which the authorities and Internet companies could work together to protect children from illegal activity online.

Anahad O’Connor contributed reporting.

Three Ways to Stop Instant Messenger Spam

Spammers are always inventing new ways of bothering you (of course), and one of the newer methods is instant messenger spam. Even if you are set to "Invisible" those pesky spam-bots still manage a way to spam you.

Here are a few ways to slow down (and possibly eliminate) it altogether.

Set Profile as "Adult", Remove from Directory Listing (Yahoo Instant Messenger)

Every Yahoo user has a profile. You can see yours at http://profiles.yahoo.com/your_user_name

  1. Go to profiles.yahoo.com/your_user_name
  2. Click Sign In and the top
  3. Login using the same username/password you use for the messenger
  4. Click View My Profiles at the top
  5. Click Edit next to your Yahoo ID (you probably only have one)
  6. Click Edit Profile Information on the next page
  7. On the bottom of the next page, CHECK Designate this profile as an ‘adult profile’ and UNCHECK Add this profile to the Yahoo Member Directory
  8. Click the Save Changes button below when finished

Setting your profile as "adult" will require anyone who wants to see it (including bots) to physically log in to Yahoo first; a good spam-bot deterrent.

Setting your profile not to appear in the Yahoo Member Directory will take your profile "off the radar", so to speak.

Set "Social" to "Just Me" (Windows Live / Hotmail / MSN)

Getting to this information requires you to jump thru several hoops, but here’s how you do it:

  1. Go to http://account.live.com
  2. Sign in with your Hotmail / MSN / Live e-mail address and password (which is the same as your messenger login)
  3. On the left sidebar, click Profiles
  4. On the next page click Edit your shared profile
  5. On the next page click Social (on the left)
  6. Next to Permissions click Anyone on the internet (Note: If it already states "People I choose" or "Just You" you don’t have to modify it and you’re done)
  7. Tick Just Me
  8. Click the Save button

Bot Sentry (Pidgin)

Pidgin is a cross-platform multi-protocol instant messaging client that connects to more or less every single kind of chat service on the planet.

Bot Sentry is, without question, the best anti-spam countermeasure for instant messaging. Nothing else comes close. This program will require any user not on your contact list to answer a predefined "Anti-Spam Question" first, such as "How do you spell the number 5?" If the question is answered incorrectly, you are never bothered.

This works on all chat services connected to with Pidgin.

How to Make Money Using Auction Sites

If you're wondering how to make money using auction sites, there are a few things you should know before jumping in right away. While there are a ton of different ways to make money using auction sites, there are just as many ways to get scammed out of your hard earned money. As long as you take precautions to protect yourself, however, things should go swimmingly.

The first step is to set up an account on Ebay, if you don't already have one. It's quick and easy to do, and immediately after you confirm your account via email you're allowed to start bidding and posting items up for auction. When talking about how to make money using auction sites, however, there is something else that's important to do.

Of course, that next step is to set up a PayPal account. PayPal is a company that works closely with Ebay and allows buyers to transfer money directly from their bank account to your PayPal account, which you can then have transferred into your personal bank account. PayPal allows you to accept all major credit cards and circumvents the problems that can arise from relying on people to pay with a check.

Now that the basics of how to make money online using auction sites like Ebay have been covered, there are a couple of tips of the trade that are important to note. First and foremost, always be honest when describing the items you're selling. If there's a scratch or ding on a product, even a small one, make sure you include it in your listing. Pictures also help to increase traffic, as to bold lettering and optional highlighting options. The only other thing to remember is that in the world of Ebay.com, your reputation is all that you have. Make sure you maintain positive feedback!

Facebook - 8 Steps To Facebook Adventure

Once a social platform for college students, the 40 million active membership site facebook is the latest buzzword in social media marketing. However, most members are extremely online savvy and they smell blatant advertisements from miles away. It is important to know some basics and gain experiences in utilizing the site and interacting with its members before you start planning your facebook marketing adventure.

1. Create a profile. The first step is to create a profile. Sign up using your real name and upload some pictures. If you do not have an email with a top-level edu domain, by default you join a regional network based on your zip code or international address. Later, you have the option to join your company's network and change your regional networks. You can change your networks twice in a 60-day period.
Always upload a profile picture. If you don't upload a picture, facebook places a default question mark icon. It is a good strategy to show your face in facebook. Don't use group pictures for your profile because others may have difficulty identifying you in the group pictures. Don't use logos, your cute cat or dogs' pictures, or a picture of your expensive car and boat.
You don't have to fill all the profile information. Fill only the information you are comfortable sharing with others. If you want to find dates using facebook, fill up the relationship status feature of your profile accordingly. Don't change the status often because others will notice it and doubt your trustworthiness.
2. Make friends. The site can find active facebook friends for you using emails in your address books of a few free web email providers like yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc. Once you get a few friends, new friend requests will pour in from your friends of friends. You can also search for friends and send requests. Work on creating a network of 100 to 200 friends. Don't make friends with celebrities because in most cases these are fake profiles setup for marketing purposes.
3. Upload pictures and videos. Start uploading some interesting pictures and group them in albums of travel pictures, baby shower photos, bachelor party scenes, etc. Pictures help people connect with your life without meeting you face to face. Always upload a number of related pictures or themes.
Create a random albums and put all your random pictures in the random album. Tag your pictures to identify people on the pictures. When you tag your friends in your pictures, they show up in their wall. You can also share your albums with others outside facebook. You can upload personal videos using your browser or mobile phone and directly record videos to facebook.
4. Use friends' walls and never post on your own wall. You have a wall in facebook for others to write notes. Don't write in your own wall. Write in your friends' walls. Your friends will write notes, share videos or links in your wall. You do the same in your friends' walls. When a friend posts something on your wall, reply to the post. If you find the posting annoying, politely ask them to back off and clean up your wall.
5. Join a few groups. There are all sorts of organic groups in facebook. These are groups of people with similar interests. Find a few that interest you and join them. You can create your own group but first find out if one exists on the same topic. This is an excellent place to be creative and get support from a bunch of people for your cause.
6. Create events and invite people. If you want to host a party, this is the feature you will use. Create your events and invite others to join. You can make an event public for your friends to see or private for the invitees to browse. Under my event, you can browse your friends' public events. You will immediately know who are your fake friends because they did not invite you to their gala dinner they are hosting.
7. Send notes and share links. You send notes to your friends. Depending on the topic, you can send a note to a few friends or to all friends in your network. Don't send chain letter notes because people find these repulsive. Your notes show up in your friends' news feeds or on their walls. A tagged note shows up on the wall, otherwise, it is found in the homepage news feed. Use share for sharing links, even though you can use this feature for sharing notes. Share that link of a cheap travel-booking site you have found while surfing the net with friends planning their upcoming vacations.
8. Visit your homepage everyday. Besides your profile page in facebook, you also have a homepage. You homepage displays collaborative news feeds of all your friends, event and group invitations, friendship requests, friends' birthdays, etc. If you want to know what is going on in your facebook friend circle, visit your homepage everyday.
The other features of facebook are poke, marketplace, facebook mobile, and hundreds of applications that enhance the facebook experience. 7 Deadly Mistakes to Avoid on eBay

Mistakes on eBay can ruin a business before it starts. When people decide to jump right into the eBay auction business, they often get so excited about starting that they forget to do their research. They are not thinking of mistakes to avoid on eBay, but rather about how much money they plan to make.

Read on to see if you are committing some of these errors and take care to avoid these mistakes. Improve the quality of your eBay business by looking at and correcting these errors on your site.

Not spending enough time to get a good "Look and Feel" for your site

The first thing buyers see is your home page. If it is messy, badly designed or hard to navigate they are not going to stick around. You may have the best merchandise in the world, but it won't do you much good if no one stays around to look at it.

Listing your items in the wrong category

Most buyers search for items by category. Be sure to become familiar will all the possible categories. It helps to list your products in the smallest niche possible. Putting it into a general niche such as "toys" will get you listed, but will buyers ever find your item? The smaller the niche, the better chance you have of someone landing on your site.

Not knowing what is "hot" and what customers are actually buying

Just because you collect butter molds or antique golf clubs doesn't mean others are looking for the same item. Keep an eye on the best selling items and hot seller lists to keep up to date on the latest buying trends

Listing only a few items at a time

You have a site. Why not use it to the fullest? If you are serious about wanting to build an auction business or even if you just want to make extra money, you have to give buyers a reason to bookmark and return to your site. If you only have 3 items for sale, why would someone pay you a return visit?

Writing incomplete or bad descriptions

Descriptions are the lifeblood of your site. You must make the descriptions accurate and truthful, but that doesn't mean they have to be dull and boring. Go to some of the sites of your competition and read how they jazz up their descriptions with positive action words. Take some free lessons on the 'Net about copywriting and make your site sell. This is one of the major mistakes to avoid on ebay.

Posting items with a high starting price or a reserve price

Like any other auction, people come to eBay looking for bargains. A sure way to scare buyers away from your site is to start the bidding too high. Start at a reasonable price or none at all, and you'll find you get plenty of bids. Yes, there are times you will lose money on an item. That's the risk of eBay. More often though, once buyers start bidding on an item, they get caught up in the action and you'll find oftentimes the item will bring you more than you ever imagined.

Shipping at your own convenience

Always remember, eBay is a business. You may consider it a hobby that you can do at your own pace, but buyers are waiting anxiously for their merchandise. Take your time in shipping and you will find your feedback dropping like a stone.

These are a few of the glaring mistakes to avoid on eBay. Look at your site and evaluate it through the eyes of your customers. Are you an eBay seller you would be happy dealing with?

How To Capture Your Favorite Moments Underwater With An Underwater Digital Camera

An underwater camera isn't just used to get the image underwater it can be used just about anywhere. Marine photographers are going to use the underwater cameras to catch the images of what they are looking for you and I are just here to read about them.

Most underwater cameras will not withstand the pressure of the water forever and that is why they are not going to stay water proof forever. Being water proof is just having it under water at certain levels water resistant is to have it under water at any level and be able to perform the same way.
If you are really interested in buying an underwater camera then you need to get the one that is going to be water resistant.

There is not a single camera that can go underwater and withstand the water pressure forever. You will never be able to make something that can unless you make some new housing for the camera which is hard because remember it has to be able to be water resistant not water proof.
If you are taking pictures with your camera there are a few things that you may need to think about.

Remember that the further down you go underwater the darker it is going to get. This means that the camera will have to have a flash or it will just make dark pictures. People will say well cant it just use the sun, at depths the sun is no longer visible and you need a light on the camera that is why they make the cameras with lights now so they can make good images under water.
A good underwater camera if used right can produce the most beautiful and amazing images you will ever see. Your pictures are going to be so clear and you will be able to see everything in the shot. It will just be the ultimate picture because you are not taking the shot at the water you are in it.

Before you go jumping in with the camera you want to be sure that it is indeed water proof you will want to just dunk it a few times under the water just to be sure. You need to be sure that neither a grain of sand nor drop of water is in any crack of the housing. You can also put a type of gel of Vaseline on the edges to be sure that no water gets in.

Most of all underwater digital cameras come with lenses. You should use these at times to capture different pictures so when you come up from being underwater you can have a variety of images to observe.

There are many cameras to buy but there is only one that can go underwater and that is the underwater digital camera. These are the only cameras that can go under water and not be hurt. You will want to test them in the tub or pool before you go diving.

How to Connect Your Playstation Portable to Your Playstation 3

Connecting your Playstation Portable (PSP) to your Playstation 3 (PS3) will allow you to play your PS3 games running on your console in your home from your PSP outside your home, using your PS3s’ wireless remote connection feature. In this article I will explain the benefits of establishing this connection.

In the resource box at the bottom of this article you will find a link to a video explaining how a PS3 and a PSP can be connected. The operation should go pretty smooth if you follow the guidelines in the tutorial video. You will find a video link at the end of this page.

Being separated from your new PS3 for a longer period of time can be hard. Imagine how hard it will be when new games like the new Grand Theft Auto get released. Connecting your PSP to your Playstation 3 will allow you to play your PS3 games even when you are outside your home.

You can play your Playstation 3 games from your office when you have a couple of minutes available, at your grandmothers’ birthday party, at the train or on the subway. With the wireless connection in your PS3 combined with the pretty high quality screen on your PSP this is not a bad option at all.

In addition to playing games from your PSP you are also able to watch movies from the Blue-ray/ DVD player on your PS3. Even though it is very possible to install videos on a PSP it is also a benefit to be able to watch DVD’s on it. I bet you have more DVD’s than you have PSP movies. At least I have.

If you have music installed on your Playstation 3 these are also available to play using your PSP if you have built a connection between the two. This is a handsome feature that can come in handy in a lot of situations.

Still I believe the most powerful feature of building a PSP-PS3 connection is the ability to play games. The quality is more than good enough and the ability to play my PS3 games from my sunny garden chair with a lemon ice tea is nothing to complain about.

If you want to know how to connect your PSP to your PS3 to avoid problems on the way I have posted a video about it on my website. Follow this link to watch it

Make Money On eBay Auction – The 3 Most Common eBay Bloopers

If you are desiring to know how to make money on eBay auction ads, it is very important that you have an understanding of what you are doing. Sadly, many individuals do not know how to properly set up their eBay auction for success and they fail to avoid common mistakes beginner auctioneers experience. However, you have landed in the right place. In this article, we will provide information on how to avoid the common eBay auction mistakes and how to successfully make money as an eBay auction seller.
We have all probably been through times when it seems that no matter how hard we try to succeed it always appears as if we’re doing something wrong or missing the main ingredient. However, your attempt to make money on eBay auction ads will change from failure to success from now on. We will be giving you a brief overview of the three most prevalent mistakes that most beginners experience when setting up their eBay auction campaigns. By understanding these three bloopers, you’ll have a better chance to increase profits and earn a decent income from eBay auctions.
Now if you look at many eBay auction campaigns, you’ll notice that many of them fail to setup an effective customer service system. This is the first mistake people make in trying to make money on eBay auction ads. It is very important to have a system setup where potential bidders can contact you and you respond immediately. This one mistake alone can cost you thousands of dollars when it comes to running a profitable eBay auction campaign.
In addition to poor customer service, the second most prevalent mistake made among beginner eBay auctioneers, is overselling. Of course, it’s logical to think that if you are trying to make money on eBay auction ads, you should sell as many items as you can and market them in a way to influence a bidders response. However, when this is done, you end up making a bunch of commitments that you simply cannot satisfy in the customer’s final analysis.
The last, and most common mistake made among many eBay auction sellers is the failure to consistently promote your ad campaign. If you are trying to make money using eBay auction ads, it is important to create a marketing blueprint of how you’re going to get your ad seen by the public. In addition to this, a failure to appropriately market your eBay auctions on other auction sites, can also hinder you from making money as an ebay seller. The decision to not try other auction sites can cause all of your advertising efforts to be for nothing. In this regard, you have to not only develop an appropriate campaign in your eBay store, but also try to reduplicate your campaigns in other comparable auction sites in order to maximize your chances to make money on eBay auction ads.

Blogging Reality - Making Money With a Blog

Back in the old days, a writer had to rely on other people to earn. Today’s writers can now earn an income from their craft by turning their passion into business. This endeavor can very well be an easy-to-achieve possibility with the use of blogs. Surprising, as it may seem, you can indeed be making money with Blogging Reality by just whipping up your hidden writing talent.

Whether you are new to the world of blogging Reality or you have been typing for years on the Internet, making money with a blog is a possibility that you can accomplish. Here are some few tips that will help you do so:

1. Make money using Google
What was once just a search engine is now among the most powerful enterprises throughout the world, in terms of its reach, and income generating possibilities. You will earn from Google by using their free service known as AdSense. All you will need is have a blog and sell space within your page for ads to be posted by AdSense. The service would then allow you to display ad units – ad boxes – that would display advertisements related to the topics you write about in your blogging Reality.

For instance, you write about a program you sell, and then the ad unit might display ads about programs related to yours. Every time your visitors click on any of these ads, you would earn a certain amount. When your earnings reach at least a hundred dollars, Google would then send you a check.

2. Promote Other Profitable Sites
A lot of online businesses offer affiliate programs. The way these work is by you having their ads posted on your blog. When a visitor clicks the ad and then purchases something from that ad, you would then receive a commission or a referral fee. A lot of the big boys of Internet shopping run such programs including Amazon.com, LinkShare, and Lands’ End, among many others. The percentages you can earn from their sales vary depending on the company’s policies.

3. You can Be an Ad Salesman
Google ads and affiliate programs don't give you much control, as you don't have much control on your earnings and the ads that are displayed on your blog. If you want to be more seriously in the ad selling game, then you can use BlogAds’ free databases where you can set prices for advertisers to post on your blog.

Some companies look for blogs that match their products and services and rent ad space the way they do with those billboards you can find along the freeway. You ad space can then be leased. You would just need to pay about 20 percent of your earnings to BlogAd.

4.donation buttons
Many blogs have donation buttons on them. And true enough, many avid fans and visitors may be willing to share some of their wealth to you as a sign of appreciation for your well-written, compelling, and riveting blog. Donation buttons may be availed from PayPal, the famous escrow service, who would get a little out of your earnings when people do decide to spare some change. Similar options are offered by Amazon and BitPass

5. Start a Gift Shop
if your blog becomes so popular that lots of people all over the world visit it everyday. Then you may profit from selling other items. The good news is you would not have to press your logo on those T-shirts or coffee mugs, CafePress would do it for you.

CafePress will sell for you anything from buttons to daring things. The selling price is up to you; you just need to pay them the base price of the products.

Making money from a blog is not as hard as it seems. But like in any other money making program, you have to do your thing and do it well.

Now a day’s ringtones have become a commodity throughout the World Wide Web. However, this wasn’t always true; ring tones started out as simple monophonic tones that helped identify a cell phone and differentiate your phone from others. As the technology in cell phones advanced polyphonic tones become standard on cell phones until today where almost every cell phone has some sort of mp3 player. Because the wide availability of this technology more people are in need of songs and tones to identify their phones and the high demand for "free ring tones for cell phones" is born!

Nevertheless, there may be a demand for this, but the offer for free ring tones for cell phones, is not entirely present. Many cell phone providers such as Verizon and Cingular try to lure customers into paying on average 3 to 4 dollars per ringtones they download off their page. However, luckily these are not the only WebPages that offer to download new exciting ringtones. There are hundreds of WebPages that offer free ring tones for cell phones that do not make money of the actual process of downloading the ringtone. Instead they make money of the advertising that is placed on their websites. This is why these types of WebPages that offer free ring tones for cell phones without any further charge, are helping satisfy the large demand in the market.

As you may have seen as technology advances so do peoples crave for its appliances. This is just the beginning to what the ring tone industry has to offer. In the near future we will see phone companies try to take advantage of the developing technologies and allow users to download and pay for their ring tones right of their cell phones. How to Maintain a Killer Myspace Layout

Myspace, one of the leaders in social networking, has hit a record of over 50 million users. The problem with so many users is that creativity often runs low. Mass-produced Myspace layouts can be seen everywhere on Myspace- and finding an original profile has become something of a phenomenon.

Build A Niche Store on Ebay

The main problem with getting new Myspace profiles is that everyone else has already likely found and used one of the hundreds that are available all over the internet. The solution that many people seek comes in the form of Myspace layout generators. These Myspace layout generators allow users to create and edit profile colors, images, and even add special items such as glitter text. This allows those who have little experience with HTML or CSS create a professional looking profile, but it still takes much more work than simply copying and pasting a premade layout.

For those who are a little more adept in technical skills, editing the HTML and CSS directly will give the most unique Myspace layout available. CSS basically controls how certain things are displayed- which means text, links, font decorations, and much more. The HTML side of coding allows users to input images, control text styles and decorations that the CSS code specifies, and can even put videos or music players into a profile. This method takes a lot more time to edit and complete, but it will give the best overall unique look for a Myspace layout.

The number one giveaway that users have used a pre-made Myspace layout is the ads that are left behind from the Myspace layout websites. Most Myspace layout providers put ads and images in the layout code that link back to their website. Users can edit this out, usually by finding the link they leave behind, which will start with and then be followed by a link to a website. This is a common giveaway that a user’s profile is just one of the thousands that looks like every other un-creative profile.

Of course, creativity isn’t always necessary. Having a creative Myspace layout is simply a means of communicating to viewers who you are and what you do. For businesses or organizations, having a creative layout is mandatory to running a successful Myspace business. For instance, record labels will definitely not want to use a branded layout- musicians would likely think that they aren’t serious enough to take the time and make their own. This can not only hurt business through lack of dedication, but also through loss of business to competitors that do have creative Myspace layout.

The Myspace layout is the next personal homepage of the current generation. Clearly, the 1990’s brought a lot of innovation into the web design scene. Since then, the ease of using Myspace has made a new kind of personal homepage- one complete with a blog, music, pictures, and networking capabilities. The definition of a personal webpage means that the content is unique- not copied. Likewise, those who use Myspace to define themselves among friends will want to customize Myspace layouts as much as possible- as it is likely the majority of the other 50 million users of simply copied and pasted a Myspace layout for their own personal use.

How To View Private MySpace Profiles

We all know that if you are a MySpace user, you have come across some profiles that you are dying to view but only to find out that they are set to private. You realize that the only way to view their profile is to add them as a friend and hope they accept. Unfortunately, most of the time they don't know you and they wont accept your friend request. However, I can show you how to view private profiles on MySpace.

I know personally, I have stumbled upon a profile of someone I thought I knew. All I need to do is check out some more pictures on their profile to be sure. But when I try to view their MySpace profile, I find out it's set to private. Now I realize the only way I can see their pictures is to send a friend request to them. But we all know that this can be tedious and most of the time not work at all. If their profile is set to private, they will most likely not add you as a friend.

Private profiles are a great feature on MySpace, however they can be a real annoyance when it comes to finding friends that you havent seen in a long time, or becoming friends with people that you think look cool. So many MySpace users have been trying to find a way around this private profile hinderance.

I have recently found a way to view private MySpace profiles. There was an old method that people used by manipulating the URL, but MySpace closed that loophole down immediately. Now for all of that have been looking for a new method on how to view private MySpace profiles that actually works, here you go:

This method only works with Mozilla Firefox, so the first thing you want to do is download Mozilla FireFox from Google. You can download Mozilla Firefox from the Firefox banner I have provided in the left sidebar.

Don't worry, it's 100% free and harmless...there's no spyware or malware that comes with it, and you won't lose your Internet Explorer browser. What you can do is keep it for the times you need to view private MySpace profiles. Ok, when you click on the download, you can save it to your computer to open and run later on by clicking on "save", or you can just download and run it right away by clicking on "Run". Once downloaded on your computer, open it up and you're on the internet.

Go sign into your myspace account, go to the profile you want to snoop around, once you're there just follow these instructions....

1. Click on "View" in the Upper left menu of FireFox.

2. Click on "Page Style" in the menu that drops down.

3. Click on "No Style" in the options given.

There is another tip that works well with Firefox and MySpace. The version of Firefox that you can download from the button on the left sidebar in this blog gives you the Google Toolbar for free.

With the Google Toolbar, when you right click on their profile picture, scroll to Google Toolbar options, click on "Cached Copy" you can see an older version of their profile that often includes older comments that may have been deleted or expired. This comes in handy when spying on your friends :)

Did this week's $100 price cut by Sony on its PlayStation 3 make a difference to you? Here's what readers are saying online:

Doesn't make any difference to me at all . . . I've got a (Nintendo) Wii, and I'm getting an (Xbox) 360 next week. I might buy a PS3 in a couple of years, but at the moment there are nowhere near enough games to make me consider it. They can drop the price another hundred bucks, but if the games aren't being developed, it simply doesn't interest me.

- Matt Wright Yes, it did. I bought a PS3 today and so did all my friends. I love Sony for cutting the price. Excellent machine.

- Lain Blitz No, it makes no difference . . . Sony needs to listen to financial analysts and drop the price again. Hopefully they already are planning to in October and this is just a temporary sales boost.

- John This makes a huge difference. Blu-ray technology keeps getting lower in cost - and to bundle that with a gaming system, Internet browser, MP3 player. Dang, I can't wait to grab one.

- Daniel Maitland This price drop was enough for me to finally go out and buy the PS3. Now having the PS3 in my room, it is one very nice looking machine.

- Borough I've already got an Xbox 360 and the HD DVD player, so the extra expense for a PS3 seems a bit wasteful. When it comes down below $300, I'll seriously consider it.

- R. Mansfield I'm from the U.K. and have never really worried

about the price; if you have a job you can easily afford one. . . . I have never regretted my purchase, it's been hours of fun; "MotorStorm" and "Resistance" are brilliant, and I've just completed "The Darkness" (U.S. import) and am currently playing "Ninja Gaiden" (U.S. import) which is mint.

- 360boy With the price cut, I think I am ready to make the plunge. I just got my flat screen and now am ready for a Blu-ray player, and the PS3 is the most affordable player right now, plus it plays games.

Iphone

iPhone is a revolutionary new mobile phone that allows you to make a call by simply tapping a name or number in your address book, a favorites list, or a call log. It also automatically syncs all your contacts from a PC, Mac, or Internet service. And it lets you select and listen to voicemail messages in whatever order you want — just like email.

Amazon.com spells success despite its consistent failure to turn a profit. No other book site on the Internet enjoys the same name recognition. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has attained superstar status. It's lauded as one of the most customer-friendly spots within the World Wide Web. And its foray into the used book market has been profitable for independent booksellers. But changes within the fixed-price, used market portion of the company have left a legacy of confusion.

What are the company's strong points? Since Bezos founded Amazon.com in 1995, it's the 48th most recognizable brand name and serves a customer base of over 29 million people. It is a company that has acted quickly to compete on this emerging business landscape and has managed to stay afloat when other companies have failed. Amazon lives on while etoys.com and pets.com have become nothing more than a memory. Its customer mission, according to Bezos, is to be the "earth's most customer-centric company." There's no doubt about that, it is exceptionally customer friendly. But for independent used booksellers, the friendly Amazon landscape may be confusing. Still, it's a sales venue that's hard to beat. Click To Continue Reading.

Without question, launching an online auction business through EBay can be one of the most successful business ventures you can ever make. Every 365, millions of people buy and sell items through this popular online auction place, buying everything from Moroccan rugs to pheromones. Statistics for EBay selling has shown that $14 out of every $100 spent online happens through EBay. Its popular setup and navigational style has let many people starting their own online auction businesses, with many considering it a full-time job. Its premise is easy: EBay selling means offering an item, receiving bids for it, and selling the item to the highest bidder. The first rule in launching an EBay business is to come up with the product line you want to deal with. Can you wholesale New Era baseball caps or pajama pants at 50% off the retail price to flip through EBay? How about that ancient baseball card collection with $100 plus baseball card values? Used items are some of the most widely sold on EBay. Starting an online auction with EBay is good for EBay, since a fraction of the total selling price of any item you sell goes directly to them.EBay selling is complemented by the effort webmasters put in wholesaling work. The best item to sell for profit on EBay doesnt matter if you cannot find a reliable wholesale source. Wholesalers can also launch EBay auctions by selling their products to people who want to flip them and sell it at a later date. Whether you have 28848 total sales or 3 sales, starting a customer service and repeat customer base is critical when it comes to building profit. EBay selling doesnt discriminate against the Powersellers or the newbies, as long as customer service is top notch. Your wedding dresses may fly off the counters but your EBay username is backed up by a feedback system that lets customers provide comments on your service and product. The higher your feedback, the more products sold bottom line.Starting an online auction business on EBay may reward you its coveted Powerseller status in the future. Powersellers are auctioneers that earn feedback ratings of at least 98% positive and $1000 worth of sales every month for three straight months. Instead of trying to find out the best item to sell for profit on EBay, Powersellers rely on their strengths along with customer support and promises fulfilled. A trivial item like a keychain may not sell well on the street, but many Powersellers earn enough pull to keep selling these items like hotcakes because of their reputations. In conclusion, starting an online business on EBay is a bona fide business venture with many rewards.

How would you like to make $5,000

Dear Sir/Mam,

My blogging mentor, Yaro Starak, has just released
his brand new blog mentoring program called Blog

You can check it out here -

http://www.blogmastermind.com/?home=242

It's a step-by-step system for generating $1,000
- $5,000 per month from only blogging 1-2 hours a
day.

Yaro currently has a blog that makes him between
$4,000 and $6,000 per month and he only has to
write to his blog for an hour or two each day to
keep the money coming. He's launched his
mentoring program to teach other people how to do
the same.

Here's what you get when you join the Blog
Mastermind program:

1. YOU GET: Regular e-lessons delivered to your
email inbox with simple, step-by-step instructions
to create, launch, build and profit from your own
successful Blog from beginning to end.

2. YOU GET: Yaro's brand new, Master-The-Mindset
10-part audio series to teach you the necessary
mindset you must have to really succeed at
Blogging.

This audio series is over five hours long and
covers critical topics such as the 80/20 Rule,
creating a vision, dealing with technical
problems, choosing a Blog topic, how to write
attention-grabbing pillar content, how to build
communication channels for massive traffic, when
and how to monetize your Blog and dealing with
information overload.

3. YOU GET: Direct access to Yaro as your mentor
through a special Members Only question and answer
forum.

This is like having an expert on call to ask how
to make your Blog better - and you can ask as many
questions as you want!

4. YOU GET: Access to audio and video Blog case
studies where Yaro reviews member Blogs and helps
students with directly applicable advice to
improve real Blogs.

5. YOU GET: To submit your Blog as a potential
case study target and ask for Yaro's advice on
how to perform an "extreme makeover" on your
Blog.

Plus much more, including FIVE exclusive bonus
audio interviews with some very well known and
respected bloggers, including Darren Rowse from
Problogger.net and Brian Clark of Copyblogger.com.

I've known and respected Yaro as my blogging
mentor for a long time and I think his program is
going to shake the blogging world.

If you want to be a part of this you better act

Hot toys for '07
Barbie's a digital girl, living in high-tech world

By JON WATERHOUSE
For the Journal-Constitution
Published on: 02/14/07

New York — It's not enough for Barbie to just stand there looking pretty; now she's singing to the music. That remote-control car must cruise on land as well as water. And hold the crackers, please. Squawkers McCaw may look real, but it's actually an animatronic parrot.

Smart technology has invaded the toy box, turning toys into, well, toys and then some. During the American International Toy Fair, more than 20,000 retailers and industry professionals browsed more than 1,200 exhibits. Their job? Pick out the stuff your kids will be begging for throughout the year. So far, most of those toys have a tech edge.

Games That Sell While Others Languish

By MATT RICHTEL
Published: January 31, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 30 — Some of the video game industry’s smartest minds thought that couch potatoes wanted richer graphics and more challenging virtual worlds. It turns out that a lot of potatoes simply wanted to get off the couch.

That may be the best explanation for the growing popularity of the Nintendo Wii, the new video game system that has players jumping, punching and swinging, giving them an aerobic workout right in front of their television sets.

The Wii, which uses an innovative wireless controller to translate the players’ motions onto the screen, has upset the order of the video game world. In electronics stores and elsewhere, there are growing signs that the Wii has taken the lead in buzz and sales over another new console, the Sony PlayStation 3, which offers new superlatives in processing power and graphics.

Apple Waves Its Wand, Again

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 9 - Remember the fairy godmother in “Cinderella”? She’d wave her wand and turn some homely and utilitarian object, like a pumpkin or a mouse, into something glamorous and amazing, like a carriage or fully accessorized coachman.

Evidently, she lives in some back room at Apple.

Every time Steve Jobs spies some hopelessly ugly, complex machine that cries out for the Apple touch — computers, say, or music players — he lets her out.

At the annual Macworld Expo in San Francisco, Mr. Jobs demonstrated the latest result of godmother wand-waving. He granted the wishes of millions of Apple followers and rumor mongers by turning the ordinary cellphone into … the iPhone.

At the moment, the iPhone is in an advanced prototype stage, which I was allowed to play with for only an hour; the finished product won’t be available in the United States until June, or in Europe until the fourth quarter. So this column is a preview, not a review.

Already, though, one thing is clear: the name iPhone may be doing Apple a disservice. This machine is so packed with possibilities that the cellphone may actually be the least interesting part.

As Mr. Jobs pointed out in his keynote presentation, the iPhone is at least three products all merged into one: a phone, a wide-screen iPod and a wireless, touch-screen Internet communicator. That helps to explain its price: $499 and $599 (with four and eight gigabytes of storage).

Apple Computer's iPod continued to rule in 2006, according to Amazon.com.

Amazon's "Best of 2006 List," published Thursday, highlights the year's bestselling, most positively reviewed and most wished-for products of the year.

Not only did various versions of Apple's iPod comprise the hottest-selling consumer electronics item on Amazon, but the fifth-generation 30-gigabyte model with video playback topped Amazon's list as the most wished-for product and the most popular gift item in the consumer electronics category for the year.

iPods were especially hot-selling during the holiday gift-shopping season, dominating the sales charts for the third year in a row, according to analysts at Hitwise, a company that provides Web site statistics for marketers.

Hitwise reported that Apple's iTunes Store saw a 413 percent increase in traffic between December 24 (Christmas Eve) and December 25 (Christmas Day). And the company saw a 110 percent increase when comparing Christmas Day 2005 with Christmas Day 2006.

More precise sales figures of the iPod will likely be made public during Apple's Macworld event next month.

As for other hot products of 2006, consumer love for game makers was spread pretty evenly. For example, the Nintendo DS Lite in polar white was the hottest-selling video game on Amazon, and the Nintendo Wii was the most wished-for game of the year. But when it came to gift giving, Microsoft's Xbox 360 20GB console was the game most often bought as a gift on Amazon.

Instant Expert: A Brief History of iPod

January 9, 2001
Apple introduces iTunes for the Macintosh, a program that converts audio CDs into compressed digital audio files, organizes digital music collections, and plays Internet radio.

October 23, 2001
Apple unexpectedly announces the first iPod (codename Dulcimer) at a price of $399. Unlike most (but not all) competing digital audio players available at the time, Apple relies on a hard disk for storage instead of flash memory or interchangeable CD-ROMs, and uniquely focuses on promoting the small size, power, and ease of use of its device. The first iPod has a 5 GB storage capacity - enough for over 1,000 songs - and works only on Macs, using iTunes as a music organization and CD-to-iPod conversion tool. Did Apple release iTunes with the iPod in mind? According to an official Apple timeline, development of the iPod began only six months earlier.

November 10, 2001
Apple ships the first iPod.

Zune doesn't shake iPods market dominance
Why does this not surprise me?...

By Troy Wolverton
Mercury News

Microsoft's Zune had a decent debut last month, but Apple Computer's iPods continued to dominate the MP3 market, according to new data from market research firm NPD Group released this week.

Although Microsoft didn't release the Zune until more than halfway through November, the company was the second-leading manufacturer of hard disk drive-based media players, capturing 9 percent of the U.S. retail market, according to NPD. Including both flash memory and hard disk drive players, Microsoft came in fourth, with 1.9 percent of the market.

The company's much-hyped entree into the MP3 player market appeared to have little affect on industry leader Apple. Although Apple's share of the hard drive market fell to 82.7 percent from 86.8 percent a year ago, its share of the overall market came in at 62.2 percent, essentially even with the 63 percent it posted a year ago.

SanDisk was No. 2 with 18.4 percent of the overall market, up from 17.5 percent last year.

Revamped versions of the flash-based iPod nano and iPod shuffle boosted Apple's overall results. Sales of the shuffle doubled year over year in November, while those of the nano grew 37 percent.

``All in all, that's a pretty good performance,'' said Stephen Baker, an analyst with Reston, Va.-based NPD.

Apple has dominated sales of MP3 players almost since it entered the market five years ago. In contrast, there are already questions about how sustainable Microsoft's Zune sales will be. NPD's own weekly data had Microsoft falling from the No. 2 vendor of MP3 players in its first week to No. 5 in its second week.

On Amazon.com, one of the leading vendors of electronics products online, the Zune has become a distant also-ran behind the iPod and other MP3 players. The black Zune -- the top selling model -- was recently ranked No. 47 among the bestselling electronics products on Amazon. At the same time Apple's black 30GB iPod -- the Zune's direct competitor -- was ranked No. 1.

The Zune even trailed Creative's rival 30GB Zen Vision, which was ranked No. 27.

A holiday gadget gift guide

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Dick Conkling, Santa’s head elf here, would love to find one of those storybook Dick Tracy gadget watches in his stocking this year.

But, alas, it’s not to happen.

As shoppers hit stores looking for consumer electronics this holiday season, they won’t really be seeing anything they didn’t see on the shelves a year ago.

There’s no killer gadget, no new product line, no real “first of its kind.” And, no, there’s still no Dick Tracy two-way wristwatch video communicator for Santa’s helper to use on his state-of-the-art cybersleigh.

Most Popular Toys & Games This Holiday Season

Poker and specific poker-related items like poker chips top the 2006 list of most-searched toys with web users for the second consecutive year. Online interest in poker jumped 316 percent over the last year, generating 308 percent more searches than the second most popular toy, Pokemon. Searches for Pokemon have increased 169 percent from 2005 as it overtakes Playstation as the second most popular toy with web users in 2006. In fact, gaming consoles, while still popular, see a decrease in search activity in 2006 with Playstation falling to number 10. Search interest in Playstation declined 14 percent over the past year while searches for XBox dropped 17 percent and Nintendo fell 25 percent.

For the sixth straight year, Playstation remains the most popular of all other gaming platforms, generating 119 percent more search interest than XBox 360.

Making its second consecutive appearance is Apple's iPod, with searches jumping 17 percent over the past year, with the iPod Nano and the iPod Video generating the bulk of the search activity. If web search activity is any indication, the iPod Nano will be more popular this holiday season, as it generates 471 percent more searches than iPod Video.

Bratz Dolls returns to this year's list, up 102 percent, while Barbie continues her run, making the top 10 toy list for the seventh consecutive year. Search interest in Barbie continues to rise, up 95 percent since this time in 2005.

As for video games, this makes for the second consecutive year that a massive, multi-player video game comes in as the number one searched vide game with Runescape. This also makes the second year that the sports-themed game Madden drops out of the top 10 with Madden 2007 coming at number 13, dipping 27 percent since 2004. Search interest in mobile and handheld devices also drops this year with search interest in P2P and Nintendo Gameboy coming at numbers 16 and 17 respectively.

The online toy, department, and specialty stores seeing the biggest jump in search activity over the past week include: Target, WalMart, the GAP, Toys R Us and Abercrombie & Fitch. Target generates 5 percent more search interest than WalMart and 323 percent more online interest than the GAP. Leading the way in search activity for online stores is Amazon, which generates 570 percent more search activity than the second most popular online destination, eBay. Amazon also generates 171 percent more search interest than Target, making Amazon the most popular online shopping destination with web users this holiday season, based on search activity.
